At Premier Orthodontics & Dental Specialists, our orthodontic specialist, Dr. Corina Radu, is committed to helping her patients with all their orthodontic needs. Dr. Radu is proud to offer free consultations for patients of all ages, with many orthodontic treatment options, individualized to everyone’s lifestyle and needs.

Born, raised and college educated in Europe-Romania, Dr. Radu won a diversity visa lottery in 1995 and with it, the right to legally immigrate to the US. She served her new country as a dentist and captain in the US Army Reserves from 2001-2004 and again as an orthodontist contractor in Germany between 2015 and 2016 during a working sabbatical. Upon her return, she decided to branch into a specialty clinic and add another specialist to her practice, providing periodontal services.

An open-minded clinician, Dr. Radu is committed to providing outstanding service for her patients and is always incorporating new techniques. Dr. Radu attends numerous orthodontic education courses and limits her practice to orthodontics exclusively. She is a Certified Provider for Invisalign®, Invisalign Teen and Clear Correct. Dr. Radu enjoys treating complex interdisciplinary cases such as combined orthodontics with jaw surgery and “Wilckodontics” (periodontally accelerated orthodontics) and incorporates routinely laser procedures and mini-implants that facilitate faster and more predictable orthodontic treatment results.

In her spare time, Dr. Radu takes great pride in taking care of her patients and her three children, Julia, Alex and Johnny.

Our periodontics specialist, Dr. Simona Katona, attended the International Dentist Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Following dental school, Dr. Katona spent four years training in the post-graduate periodontics program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where she served as Chief Resident and was awarded a Specialty Certification in Periodontics.

Dr. Katona has obtained the highest recognition for a specialist in the field of Periodontology by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a distinction held by less than one-third of all practicing Periodontists. She is a Board Certified Periodontist and is currently involved in the following dental organizations: American Academy of Periodontology , Chicago Dental SocietyInternational Academy of Ceramic Implantology. Dr Katona continues to teach as adjunct lecturer in the Department of Periodontics at UIC.

Dr. Katona keeps up with the latest advances in periodontology and dental implant therapy by attending the annual congress of the American Academy of Periodontology and continuing education trainings with the world’s top experts in the field. Dr Katona enjoys treating all aspects of periodontal disease, periodontal plastic surgery, hard and soft tissue regeneration, and implant dentistry. She is committed to providing excellent patient care and strives to achieve an optimum oral health and well being for her patients.
